Cosmix was founded in 1997 to meet the growing demand for professional makeup schools. The school 's founding philosophy was a commitment to educational excellence and began by assembling a faculty of exceptional makeup artists. We are one of the few licensed makeup artistry schools in the United States. We are not a cosmetology or beauty school. We are a post-secondary makeup academy licensed by the Florida Department of Education and accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC). Makeup artists who want to focus on makeup seek out a makeup school not a cosmetology school where the focus is hair.
