We Have History
At Wesleyan, “First for Women” isn’t just a catchphrase. It’s a way of life. Founded as the Georgia Female College on December 23, 1836, Wesleyan was the first college in the world chartered to grant degrees to women.
Our students are encouraged to consider a study abroad experience as part of their liberal arts education. These international programs are often life-changing, providing experiences and developing skills that are attractive to future employers.
