A satellite Trades Centre in Moosonee, linked to the Centre of Excellence for Trades and Technology at the Timmins Campus, provides high-skills training in technology, trades and apprenticeship programs to James Bay coastal communities.
The town of Moosonee is a vibrant, tightly-knit community located 19 kilometres south of James Bay on the Moose River. While its population of just over 3,500 may seem small, the town’s size is actually one of its biggest advantages. Moosonee is the kind of place where it’s a breeze to settle in, get to know your neighbours and quickly feel like an important part of the community. You’ll also encounter a lot of movement through the town because Moosonee serves as a major transportation hub for Ontario’s Far North. From Moosonee you’ll find passage not only to other northern cities, but to several First Nation communities located on the western coast of James Bay.
